Gold Panning

Welcome to the Gold Panner Campground and our 2 active Placer Claims.

We kindly ask that you check in at the office to register and pay a $10 daily gold panning fee* before heading down to the creek to try and strike it rich!

At the Gold Panner you may pan for gold under the rules defined in the MINERAL TENURE ACT:

[RSBC 1996] CHAPTER 292 under the heading PART 2 – LOCATION AND CLAIMS, sub section:

Recreational hand panning

9 –   (1)Subject to subsection (2), a person who is not a free miner may hand pan for recreation purposes.

(2)A person must not hand pan on a valid mineral title unless the person receives permission from the recorded holder of the mineral title.

So, what this all means is this, if you are uninvited (have not registered with the office or paid the $10 gold panning and land access fee) and you are panning on OUR CLAIMS or adjacent claims without permission, this is theft, or what may also be referred to as CLAIM JUMPING.

Also, please note that in the spirit of recreation hand panning, we DO NOT allow sluice boxes, highbankers or metal detectors on OUR CLAIMS.

We are all here to have fun and we hope that you respect our little piece of paradise and the provincial rules related to placer gold panning.

Thank you and good luck!

Jenn & Tim
