Highway 6, between Lumby and Nakusp, is one of the best motorcycle routes in British Columbia and the world! The ups and downs of this winding mountain highway offer an exciting and scenic trip. From the rolling desert hills and orchards of the Okanagan Valley, through to the majestic foothills of the Monashee Mountains and down to the Needles/Fauquier Ferry , Highway 6 serves as the gateway to the Kootenays.
Check out the local wares made by Cherryville artisans at the Gift Shop behind Franks Store, or grab a game of golf and a bite at the Cherryville Roadhouse golf course. Before driving off to your next destination fill your tank and stock up on other essentials at locally owned convenience stores: Frank’s General Store and Canco, formally known as the Cherryville Emporium.
This area has also been dubbed by some, the hiking capital of Canada. Hike the Twin Creek, Camels Hump, Mount Beaven, Monashee Lake, Pinnacle Lake, Vista Pass, Spectrum Lake trails or go for the big time and do the Mark Berger traverse.
There are also many incredible outdoor activities only a short drive away. Visit Keefer, Echo, Sugar or Mabel Lakes. All offer perfect conditions for boating, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, swimming, and fishing.
